Ok, very few may know, but I ordered a gTech dyno. I got it today and the first mule to test it on was my Mazda 626.

Image

I only was able to run one speed run, but this is the results of it:
0-60 in 9.43s
1/4mile in 17.29s @81.1
Max Gs - .47g

That was with bald tires spinning on salt and a automatic.

I was'nt able to get the HP and TQ cuz I did'nt enter in the weight of the vehicle, but I am looking forward to finding out the actual. I saw some numbers tonight that might be promising.

I will when I get it out of storage. I'm gonna do a before and after for sure. Were gonna put my dad's stock ZTS(well he stole my old K&N panel filter) thru the dyno as well. So we'll see how much the underdrive and Volant Intake I'm taking off does add. Hes getting the intake and UDP

So I ran the Mazda again today. This is the just of the results:
0-60 - Mid 9s
1/4 - Low 17s @ 80mph
HP - Just around 100
Tq - I could'nt get a decent reading.
Gs - Averaged .48

This is the results from my friends VW Jetta GLI
Run 1:
0-60 - 8.11
1/4Mile - 16.01 @92.9
HP - 175
Tq - /
Gs - .45

Run 2(The rest stop)
0-60 - 7.19
1/4Mile - 15.31
HP - 180
Tq - 182
Gs - .54

I'm gonna try and rig up some kind of intake for the Mazda. I want to hit the 16's in the quarter.

I think they run like 200$.

I seen kenwood has a deck with something like that built in, and, if you have a pioneer screen deck there is another module you can get to do the same thing.

Is pretty accurate.
David had his Jetta dynoed last year around 175. He then got chipped and IC. So its reading pretty close. Its gonna read alittle lower then a roller dyno. Because it figures in the drag of the vehicle.

I don't understand how this device works... what figures can it go off of, and how can it calculate HP and TQ... etc

It gots sensors in it that measures the amount of G's compared to time and all that jazz. It calculates HP and TQ by weight and time. Its kind of complicated, and thats why I am not making the money from it. LOL
