Header wrap?

ok well i just got me a header(used off a show car) and i was wondering which way is the best to keep the header from destroying my hood. Should i wrap it or coat it and which one costs more?

I would not cover it with wrap, if anything, get it coated, but, imo, you should be fine unless you pulled the insulation off your hood...

Or if your car is like mine and didn't come with insulation, stupid ford. Some of the Foci did not have that crappy layer of insulation on them from the factory. Coated would be better.
Slower than your stock focus.

I run the kamikaze header and I haven't had any problems with it at all. Thats with no insulation.

the focus I bought, has the focus sport long tube header and the kaminari hood doesnt have insulation at all and the hood it perfectly fine.

I have a Stainless OBX race header, with a non insulated EFX carbon fiber hood, and have had zero major problems related to the heat.

My SVT has had the heat shield removed and I have had no problems either.

I am planning on wrapping mine though, just to get the underhood temos down.

There is nothing wrong with header wrap if it's done properly.

my dp has wrap but I didn't put it there. I had the FS header on two cars with no problems.

I have those horrible Tsudo headers. I haven't had any probs yet but I'm looknig into wrap to bring temps down. I got a thrid degree burn on my hand even letting it cool down for 3.5 hours.
I'm not the MN ZX3 w/ Cali plates anymore.
A cop came by and trashed my dreams.
