Would the centerforce clutch hold 230hp or do I have to get a spec or cm stage4? I don't launch my car ever if that has any importance as to which clutch I need.

230whp is start to push the centerforce imho. I've had good luck with my centerforce thus far but daily I'm nowhere near 230whp. CM stage IV might be a bit much for you as well though. Nils drives his fine and I'll probably get one but I'd at least drive one before you buy it. It's literally off and on. You could look into ACT clutches as well, that's what Louis Zerr is running.

I'll be going to the clutchmaster stage 4 clutch in the spring, but like I said, it's a whole different car if its a 4 puck compared to a dual friction.

I'm getting a CM Stage 3 and a Fidanze flywheel in June once I get me body fixed after that accident. How does it feel? I heard it's off or on but I wanna know how it holds up for power wise

How hard is it to change a clutch?

Well the easy way is to pull the engine with the tranny attached. Put the engine on a engine stand, take tranny off, put the clutch on, then put everything back together.

However you can pull the tranny with the egnine still in place its just extreamly harder to get all back together after.

Pulling the engine is rarely the easy way to do anything especially if you just need to install the clutch. It's going to be a PITA either way, much less to do it in the car.

Well since the tranny is an engine mount, and to really get the tranny out properly but pulling it out from the top, why not just pull the whole damn thing out? you've got to disconnect about half the shit anyways so why not just to the whole damn thing?

Because it's a bigger bitch to drop an engine in, then put a tranny back up and hook up the mounts. Most of the stuff you have to disconnect is pidly shit anyways.

So your saying its easier to drop the whole cross member down below? Cuz to drop a tranny in the focus, the cross member must be removed. I found the way we did Rod's car to be quite lesss hassle free.

What I'm saying is it's pointless to take the transmission out of the car if you don't have to. All thats needed is to unbolt the transmission, move it aside and install the clutch.

HAHA!!!! ROFL!!!!! Good luck doing that. There was barely enough room to get Rod's tranny out with the little space there is in there. It might have been doable in Jrod's car but not in the Focus.

We were not able to get jared's tranny out completly, the focus has way more room than that elantra. It may not be so much fun, but it is way more doable, especially since i have 2 more bigger jack stands.

Its the TQ you need to look at, and, don't buy more clutch then you need;)

Good read.

Also, the spec kits would be the way to go, IMO.
