Your the 50th person I've told this to already, but basically liquid metalic grey, well any metalic paint that is is hard to directly paint match from a previous paint job, if it was done all at once from the same batch of paint it would look fine.

What happend was when Dave got the car painted, the parts that is, it was from a totlaly different batch and now in certain shades of light the parts look miss matched, but if you see the car upclose which you have you can't tell the difference.

How did he have the paint matched? If you go into a paint store and just tell them what color you want, theres a good chance that it won't match the factory paint. They need to physically come outside with a scanner and scan a flat part of the car.

He had the body shop at apple vally ford do the work. and really it has to do more with the base coat then it does with the metalic coat. again I am not worried about it becuase looking at the car IRL you can't tell the difference, its just when you take a pciture of the car that makes it look different.

No just the base coat, from what I gather a grey (where the grey comes from in the liquid metalic grey color) first they spray on a standard grey base coat, then the metalic clear is sprayed over ontop of that.

Either the mix of the base coat is a little off, or the metalic clear over that is off, one of the two is a silghtly different mix, and thats why you see the difference in colors in different light stages and pictures.

Alrighty....here it is yall. I got the kit done at Apple Valley Ford (code CX). I have been told by not only the entire staff of the shop, and 2 sales reps from House of Kolor at SEMA....dark metalics are almost impossible to match unless you do the entire car or at least blend it with the kit on  . I couldnt leave them the car so they had the kit only and tried to match it as close as they could. I have had the car next to 5 other LMG cars and each one was different in shade and depth....if anything...the front bumper shows the slight variance but only in certain light...in the sun you never see it. Ford loses cash big time trying to match this color for the Mustang and Harley F-150 crowd when they get into fender benders....they were repainting a Cobra that had the door jacked only so it all would match when I picked up my kit....they hate to fix CX colored cars.
