Because of that, I ended up spending my Sunday morning driving to Hastings instead of fixing my car. Getting to Hastings in that snow in a van with tires that were shot last Winter was interesting. I just love fishtailing while going down a straight section of highway and maintaining 30mph.

Amazingly enough, the tire that was on that wheel was just fine.

Holy crap, how hard did you hit the curb?

It didn't feel that hard. The tie rod end on that side is really loose now, but the tie rod isn't bent. It didn't even break the bead. I had to bleed down the tire pressure myself before I put the spare on for fear that it would blow out one of those chunks of aluminum into my face.

If I had been thinking clearly, I probably would have straightened out the wheel and just gone over the curb.

Yeah. At least Al had a couple of those wheels on hand. The best part is I had a spare set of those that I sold a week before that happened.

Sounds about right, One of these years I'll pick up a set of 16s and keep them. I've only bought and sold two or three sets of them over the years.
