Stalling

I have a 2001 ZX3 with a manual transmission. I've had occasional problems with the car stalling when coming up to s stop light. But, I just replaced the battery two days ago and now 5 minutes into my drive it wants to stall at every stop. I know it takes the computer 20-30 minutes of driving to reset after the battery has been unhooked but I've driven 90 minutes total since then and it's still doing it. From what I've been reading so far it could be a lot of things. Vacuum leak, Idle Control Valve, Vehicle speed sensor ect. Any ideas on where to start? Is there a real world test I can do to check any of these? And how hard is it to replace the Idle Control Valve?

Thanks

How does it run other than the stalling?

Runs great. no hesitation no sputtering nothing. It's just when I push the clutch in coming up to a stop the RPM's drop down so low it kills the engine. I found a site that says you should get the engine to normal operating temperature. Then turn on all electronics. Then rev the engine to around 3000rpm for a second or two. Then take your foot off the gas. It should drop to around 1100rpm and pause briefly before dropping to the normal idle. If it doesn't then your Idle Control Valve is bad. Does that seem like an accurate test?

I've never heard that one before.

Could be IAC, TPS possibly EGR, stuff like this can be fun.

When was the fuel filter last changed? Plugs, wires etc.

I replaced the coil pack, plugs, wires, and alternator within the last year. Fuel filter would have been last summer sometime.

No check engine light but I did find this tonight when I had good light. This I think is a vacuum line coming off the back of the intake manifold. It' looks fine in this pic but once the car starts it sucks it closed. I traced it and it goes around the back of the engine and into a metal line that I think then connects up to another short rubber line into the PCV valve. Hard to tell since it routes underneath the coil pack.. Steve do you know what hose this is? I think this might be my culprit. Either way if it's being sucked closed it needs replaced. If you need more pics let me know or I can even stop by Tousley tomorrow on my way to work.

Thanks

Common issue, Steve has the fix. PCV hose collapsing.
