Windshield cleaning
Has anybody used the special clay bars for cleaning windshields? Mine has all kinds of crap on it that I can't get off. It's pitted, too, but if I can at least get some of the residue off it I might be able to wait a bit longer to replace it.

I have not, but I am considering it on my G8 since I have their national meet in a couple weeks. I noticed this morning that is is pretty sad looking. What are you considering using?
Slower than your stock focus.
I haven't picked one out yet, I'm still looking around. I was specifically thinking about the glass-specific ones, though, since I've heard the regular clay bars will make it worse.Louis Zerr wrote:I have not, but I am considering it on my G8 since I have their national meet in a couple weeks. I'd rather just tell them the pitting makes it unsafe because it reduces visibility when driving into the sun. No fraud necessary.ZX2_racer wrote:I've considered just cracking it on my own and submitting to insurance. There, clean new windshield.

I had a stroller fall out of the garage rafters on to my windshield a few years ago, I told the insurance company exactly what happened and they covered it.
