SVTF Exhaust System - Not As Advertised????

Okay, I received my FSWERKS Stealth exhaust system for my SVTF. Nice looking system.
Upon close inspection, however, I noticed that the inlet pipe on the 1st resonator (immediately after the flex pipe) looked smaller than 2½”. I measured it, and it measures 2¼”! The FSWERKS website states, “We use 2.5" diameter mandrel bent stainless steel tubing in our designs for maximum flow and horsepower.” Notice that they don’t mention the ‘mufflers/resonators’?

I’m disappointed. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. What good is a 2½” system if you start out with a 2¼” system? This would be acceptable if – and only if – the flex pipe is only 2¼”. Anyone know what the flex pipe diameter is (I’m too tired to crawl under my car and check)?
:?

Flexpipe should be 2 1/4.

Please clarify what you mean by this.

I believe the stock SVT flex is a 2 1/4 so the inlet of the exhaust could be 2 1/4 and not affect anything.

In all reality I'd be amazed if that 1/4" would make any difference on a JRSC car anyways, it probably would on a more highly boosted turbo but you can only move so much air with that setup and even the stock exhaust system was pretty free flowing.

Yes it will. With supercharging the most restricted part of the system is the exhaust. You HAVE to be able to get the air out.
According to the pro's 2.5 inch is good for UP TO 180HP. Isn't the JRSC good for 200~ish?

As far as I know lot's of blown SVTs were in the 200-250hp range with near stock exhaust setups.

I believe Patalrobs Powerworks car made something like 240whp with a stock flex in place.

I'll never know how much of a difference it would make - if any - if the muffler input tubing was 2½" instead of 2¼". I will tell you this: The powerband with the new setup is very smooth, and my "seat of the pants" gauge tells me that I gained a few ponies in the process.
So far I like the system very much.
