I'm about to say fuck it, call Al and get a complete new motor.

Good excuse to throw a 2.3 in there.

Wouldn't I need a new PCM?

It works good if the bolt is softer or equal in hardness to the surrounding material. You have just the opposite going on. The key is to drill out the center of the bolt and take enough material so you can get a tap that's the correct size for the bolt to start cutting the damaged bolt. The hole you need to drill in the damaged bolt really needs to be the diameter of the bolt minus the treads. Maybe a little smaller but you see where the problem is. The bit you are using is damn near the same size as the bolt hole. Anything off center starts to cut into the treads in the head. It may be a last resort effort but it sounds and looks like that’s where you’re at.

I sourced a new(er) motor for 400 and a shop to replace it for 700. Thinking I might go that route. Motor has under 30k on it too.
