I am really getting sick of a cold car now, and since the car only has 37 rounds on it I figure that it'd be worth the few hundred bucks to get one, Best Buy wants roughly $385 out the door with install. According Ford's website they want $500 with install.

My question is: Is there any other places besides Best Buy and Zeibart(?) that sell and install at a decent price?

Find out there warrenties and look at them very closly. I vote for the ford installed one.

There is a place in Blaine called Auto Air and Accessories that does great work. They have worked on all my families vehicles and do great work! I know they have a few different options for remote starters. (763) 785-7878

Got a starterfrom that place in blaine, had it put in by one of there employees from up toward me, under the table of course. It was in a friends chevy truck, but its been over a year with no problems at all.

I use 4 star auto trim for my astrostart remote starters, call Lee at 320-290-3232, they are located in st.cloud and have great service.

buy a remote starter from Steve, and have me install it for you. They work great and uphold your warranty if you are still under one. Also spots25, his car came with a block heater. I think the part number is 7L5Z-19G364-AA. Around 200 buck with your steve discount. I'll install it for 150.....It will be less than Bestbuy and be Ford product

You're a certified mechanic right?

Im pretty sure since my car was from South California it doesn't have the block heater, if it did, I'd be plugging her in every night.

I will call around to the 2 places mentioned above when I feel more up to it, I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in the morning so I'll be a little sore for a few days.

for the factory remote starter according to ford.com's accessory page the part number is: 7L2Z-19G364-AA for $257.14

I am a certified mechanic and I have installed probably 250 of those kits over the last 4 years. the 7L5Z is the updated part number (new kit, but same everything). I just put one in my wife's car and employee cost for the kit was around 195 plus tax.

I would go for the ford one as I have a aftermarket one in my truck and so far it has ate 3 batteries and 1.5 starters. I know of other people that have had the same problems with the aftermarket ones and all the factory installed ones have been good with a bonus factory ford warrenty.

Also.......those motors are mass produced. It probably has a block heater, but no cord to plug it in. look on the back of the block down by the exhaust manifold on the left hand side of the motor.

maybe he means the current starter is half way thru its life.

After I'm up to it I'll check for the plug area.

So, if I want FocusMech.73155 to do this, where are you located and certified thru?
