Duratec voltage regulator

Hello. I'm new to the mnfocus crowd, so I hope I'm not asking questions that have already been beaten to death here. I'm discarding the Ford computer on a 2.3L Duratec in favor of a Megasquirt3(http://www.ms3efi.com). I'm told that the alternator is controlled by the stock computer, and that the MS3 won't handle it. I'm pretty sure that an older voltage regulator should solve the problem, if I can find the right part. (The older regulators don't need advice from the computer.) Does anyone know about this? Thanks for your help.

I would hit up a national forum like FocalJet.

the alt is internally regulated and not controlled by the ecu.
The only thing the ecu does is shut the car down if the voltage gets to low, this is so sensors and such arent damaged. if the voltage gets to high either the fusible link or a fuse itself will blow.

I pulled them off of different sites over the years. A wealth of info can be found on euro kit car sites.
Below is a link to my pb account with more diagrams. These are all zetec I believe.
