Who can break into a '99 Cougar?

Anyone?
Anyone?
I've been working on my old neighbors '99 Cougar (only one key for it) and my son felt the need to lock the keys in the ignition.
Sooooooo, I need to know if anyones got any break in skills that could swing by Shoreview to pop the door open without destroying the car.
Help?

Car have full coverage or the owner have AAA?
(think you know where I'm going with this)
Can't remember, is the Cougar a frameless door?
If so you should be able to wedge the window open a bit and hit the inside unlock button with a hanger. Windows usually give enough to make it pretty easy.

Call your non emergency number for your local police. Most departments do lock outs for free. Call and ask. They are trained on how to do them and it won't hurt the car.

Says the cop that's coming over to work on his car tomorrow
What's the non-emergency number for Cottage Grove PD and do I ask for Officer Pappy or just the FNG

keys from a ford focus or a ford f150 etc may possibly open the door if they use the same style key as the focus/f150 obviously. I have had a f150 key open my door when I locked my keys in my car. Kinda a long shot but it worked for me and a couple people I have seen online...

I used to work for AAA. Getting into cars is actually not too hard with the proper tools. I will give you this one tip though. Make sure they try getting in the passenger door and not the driver door. That way, if they do break something, it's not on the door you use most.

I do that on doors with frames. I've had to break into my Focus three times.

It's amazing the things you pick up as you get older huh Chris?
Very good point though, thanks.

I've broken into somebody else's Cougar with the key for mine once.
Otherwise they have a frameless window it should be one of the easier cars to break into.

Yeah, the glass just fits so tightly into the window channel that I hate to damage anything. I guess I'll just give it a shot.

Try every key you own first. My Ranger key even opened my door once

When I locked the keys in my Focus I took the VIN number to my local Ford dealer and they made me a door key for it. Cost like 8 bucks. In Fact it was the PARTS Dept. that made the key for me.

Oh, snap!
Why didn't you think of that, Steve?
