Cross posted from [FJ].

So tonight I hopped in my car after it sat in the garage all day. I started it up and started driving down the street. After a block I noticed the airbag light was still on (the one in the dash). I turned the car off and on a few times and it still came back on. What could be the cause of this?

*Note: I drove with it on for about 15 miles, pulled over to get something to drink, started my car again and it didn't come back on. I turned it on and off about three times since then also and it still didn't come back on. This is the first time it has ever done this.

Could be lots of things. I had a flashing air bag light in the Cougar when the clockspring went bad. I also lost cruise and horn eventually until I replaced it.

I had a Beretta with a messed up clockspring, a wisp of smoke would come out of the steering column every time I used the blinkers.

They can hook their computer up to it and it'll tell them something. But it'll probably cost $100....

I was going to hook mine up to our computer at work but it went away so I didn't worry about it anymore.

It came back on again today. :(

It will come on, but after a bit it will turn off then come back on again.

This sucks. I just ordered my header today too.

Most common Air Bag Light repairs I have seen on Focus' is the driver seat belt pre-tensioner. I am not saying thats what it is......I am just saying that I have replaced a lot of them

When it first comes on is it flashing? If it is you need to count the flashes and pay attention to any pauses in the flashing as the pause indicates a break in the number so it could flash something like "four flashes pause five flashes" which would be a code 45 or whatever, I'm not super familiar with the codes but one of the guys here has a pretty good list of what they are.

There is no flashing. It turn on like normal when the key is in the ignition in the "On" position, then after I start the car is stays on again for a few seconds, like normal, and then after a few more seconds it will turn off, then back on again after about 2 seconds.

Tenvordee wants $80 to just look at it. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Tousley will charge you 136.95 to look at it.......80.00 bucks isn't bad at all. If I had a scan tool, I could help you out, but I am not allowed to bring home scan tools from work
