So by then end of the year i'm hoping that I can hit 14.9 in the 1/4. Is this a feasible thought?

I will hope to obtain this with a tune and full exhaust, beyond my current mods, on my 15's.

I agree, it's pushing it, but it's kinda just a thought. I thought it wasn't a totally crazy thought, but i'm curious as to weather it's a likely goal, or if I should just stick with my much more realistic goals of a 15.2?

Midnight pondering. :?

WTF. You posted this as you where asking me?

Ryan you're going to have to consider tire diameter. You've got a set amount of travel per rotation of the tire. If you don't spin you can figure how many rotations the tire will make down the track, and with a bit more work you can figure how many times the engine will have to turn.

Quick math,
5280/4 = 1320
1320*12 = 15,840
Diameter of your tire is about 25.6" (225/60-15). So the rolling circumference is ~514.72".
15,840/514.72 = ~30.77 tire revolutions

What's that mean for you?
Keep the RPM's as high as possible to get the most applied work to the tire. Shift damn near at redline every gear even if the car feels like it's slowing down.
I still say you'll be faster on the 17's. It's a smaller tire and you'll be able to RPM up faster, that equals more work over time, HP, just a little though.

But I'm predicting you get a 15.9 this time out.

While there are skidpad increases with the larger wheels/tires, it is unfortunate they did not test a lightweight 17" wheel and tire package. By this test, it would seem probable if you could match the stock wheel/tire weight, the results would be so close to, if not exactly, like the stockers. I have made it a point to look at tire weights before buying, and there are 15's that weigh as much as 17's for Focus fitments. Obviously there are lightweight wheels out there which are close to or as light as stock 15".
So I am going to add my opinion here and say pound for pound match, the 17" lightweight package would offer increased handling while, depending on rolling resistance, the larger contact patch could decrease mileage over stock.

You got it right on the nuts. 15.981 @ 87. I was really hoping for a 15.8, but that was my first and best run all day. I think that it still has a 15.8 in it, but next time I will keep the 17's on, and be on full exhaust. Buying a 4-1 from F2 here in the next 2 weeks or so.

This is still nice numbers for a non-svt focus. car and driver put the stock svtf at 15.8-15.9 back when they tested it.

86mph, that means you have a better 60' than me I'd bet ... 2.2 ish?

Really wonder what mine's capable of with good traction. Should get a high 14.
eh, I'll have to scrounge up some money and find my way up there at some point.

Well since were pulling numbers out of our ass, I'll bet I can get atleast 8sec or 9sec. With perfect condisions. Or maybe around 13's.
