No one ever looks like you picture them, that's a fact.

And thanks, I'm hoping this bike gets done soon so I can ride it this year.

My brother in law was doing a little bodywork on the rear quarter of his Mustang a few years back. He had the Bondo all sanded down, and went around to the front of the car to discover his daughter (4 at the time) wanted to 'help' her daddy. She had sanded the front fender with 600 grit.

Shiny paint done, needs to cure for a few days and get rubbed out. I used Duplicolor white wheel paint for the frame for the toughest finish available.

Spent an hour or so cleaning up these bits with a couple brushes and some kerosene and I took the derailleur apart and cleaned and greased it.

I'm still going to do a bit more cleanup on the aluminum bits before reassembly.

easy off, oxy clean, and hydrogen peroxide work good on aluminum.

I still had a tube of Simichrome from when I had my last motorcycle, it's still not spectacular but it's 100% better than it was.

I also managed to save the pedals that I thought were junk, turned out the one just needed a good cleaning, some grease and to be properly adjusted.

I picked up some black cork bar wrap but I'm waiting till the last minute to put it on because I've got another bike coming and the brake levers might be better.

Still need a chain and I may have to do some work on the paint but we'll see. No wheels yet either but I can borrow the ones off the Peugeot if I want to ride this one.
