That's an old Raleigh, The thing is freaking enormous!
The standover height has to be three or four inches higher than the Peugeot. I'm not tearing down much farther than this, just far enough to get it clean and scuffed for repainting.

I found a old bike today if you want it. While riding around, someone dug up 3 old bikes from the bottom of the river where the trails go thru downtown. The tires are rotted off, and all are covered in mud. I was gonna take the taller 27" but I did'nt like the frame on it, and everything else would be destroyed or rusted. The other was a femail mountain bike and a kids smaller bike.

That's beautiful, nice job!
I actually just measured the two bikes, the Peugeot has a 33 1/2 inch standover and the Raleigh is a 35 1/2 inch standover so it's not as much as I had estimated but when you've got a 36" inseam you need the tallest bike frame you can get.
I hope you don't mind Kyle but I'm leaning toward white for the Raleigh

Any clue what it is and does it have any other useable parts? I might be interested.o2designs wrote:A repaint huh...you'll need it stripped alittle farther...FORDSVTPARTS wrote:That's an old Raleigh, The thing is freaking enormous!

I'm not doing an uber-pro repaint, I really don't feel like pulling the crank and headstock apart so I'm just going to work around those.

I don't know what brand it was. It is caked in mud. I might run down there later and pick it up just in case. We might be able to use something on it. The frame is not something I'd want to use tho...
If you want to do white, feel free. I was torn between acouple colors, but while looking at the store, white just came out. So I went with it. Really changed the look of the bike tho. I may repaint it eventually anyway, and do a better job. I did all the components on it black so they will go with any color I do later...Only part white is the frame and brake cable.(which I need to change the line keepers to white)

Ight Steve, went down to look at them, they are toast. I could'nt see one reusable part, everything is rotted off or rusted. One the frame is even bent. They must have went thru the dam or something. LOL

That bike was trashed, it had to have been in the river for years.
Now I'm debating the white. I might go flat black just for ease of cleaning. We'll see.

That was one of the other colors I was considering. But the flat black will hide dirty, etc better. It does'nt clean as easy as a gloss color.
