How do you properly apply header wrap?
I have a new ORP coming, and I was going to wrap it before I install it. Any quick tips would be great. thanks

Just make sure that you keep it tight, and also at the auto store they have this metallic zip ties that you could use.
Do you already have the wrap?

Are you installing it yet? Can you run the car where it is to cook the wrap on once you install the ORP?
It's best to install the wrap wet and then cook it on by running the car or driving it.

A can of that wrap spray helps too.
I've run unprotected

and the wrap lasted about 6 months; protected it's lasted longer than that so far.
I'd also recommend waring gloves while playing with the wrap. Shit itches, fiberglass.

My header has been wrapped without the spray and it's held up for a few years already, My dads header on his race car is wrapped as well and he never sprays his either and his lasts for years easily.

Don't have part yet, so not installed. Wanted to wrap before I installed it. I have mechanics wire ( a spool of steel wire) so I won't need the "metal zip ties" so basiclly get it good and wet wrap it tight, and run it dry? That's what I'm getting from everyones comments.

Yup, I used stainless wire as well. The only downside to it is that it's super sharp so if you don't get the ends tucked in well you'll cut yourself to shreds when you forget to be careful reaching in to those areas later on.

Yea I know that feeling very well. We use it all the time in the Military. THats what gloves are for.
