Hey all! I have a question about lamin-x. I for sure want to laminx my foglamps and I am tryiing to decide if I want to do my heads/tails.

Has anyone done them (head or tails) on here so I can see how they look? I was thinking about the "tint" shade.

p.s. I thought I should say thanks again to Steve and Karl, for hooking me up with new fogs and niteshade... Thanks Guys!

If you laminX the headlights, only do clear.

Any other color will cut down on light output and its illegal to have tinted headlights in MN.

I've got yellow Lamin-x on my fogs and my HID's have a clear stonegaurd (unsure of the brand ).

Works great.

Thanks for the heads up on the whole "not legal" issue!

I will definitely go clear on the heads. I don't think that the yellow fogs would look good on my car, since my car is red, and decked out in black.

Is there a benefit/reason people go yellow on the fogs, or is it just a personal thing?

the yellow color cuts through fog better or something i know there's a reason.

My main reason for going to the yellow fogs was strictly an appearance thing, With my HID's the fogs looked really weak anyways so I figured why not go with yellow ones.

I think there is truth to what Matt said. LeMans cars run yellow lights and such. I believe it's to help light output thru fog and crappy weather confusions.

But I'm with Steve, yellow just looks cool. Lol

For what it's worth, I just bought yellow bulbs, and the box says yellow is superior for foggy confusions. So who knows how much is true...:-/

Thanks for the info everyone! I ordered the 40mil (clear) stuff for the fogs and I will just figure out the color situation later. I went 40mil because both of my fogs were busted out by road debris (at least I think...).

On the whole yellow fog thing. I actually work in optics (eyeglass lenses, etc.) and yellow lenses are used by pilots, fisher-people, and also for general "foggy" conditions because they create contrast in your vision. Although, these lenses will change EVERYTHING you see, not just the stuff on the ground in front of you. I honestly don't know that a little bit of yellow light does the same, but I will ask some of the senior people in the business and see if I can get to the bottom of it ;-)
