Trunk latch problems?

Has anyone else had trunk latch problems with the electric opener?

A little history.
The cars an 07 se with sap1.
This will be the 4th time to the dealer for the problem.
When the trunk is released it makes a god awful buzz, but it does release most of the time. closing in another thing, 3/4 of the time I have to play around with the latch to get it to close and it doesnt always close fully (door ajar light stays on).
It's been replace 2 times now out of 3 visits.
I'm getting seriously frustrated with the throwing a new part at it only to have it happen again.
Any suggestions?

should be covered on warrenty (or the 12 mnth / 12000 on the new part.

i had the same prob with my 01 se (not the buzzing" as for the closing. lube it and see if that works. i'd suggest fogging oil (it's what you use to winterize boats).
\now the buzz. what does it sound like? like a old florescent light? or a secure door lock like at appts that you need buzz people is? or like a vibr.... well, you get it..... does it happen with the button and the remote? or just one and not the other?

The dealer has tried everything including removing it and using lithium grease, it doesn't last long.
The buzzing is as you described with the secure door locks but about 3 times as loud )scares the crap out of people walking by).
doesn't matter button or fob.

Ford has been having problems with their trunk latch soleniods. The buzzing sound you are hearing is the soleniod. It is part of the latch so when they replace the latch they replace it. I don't know why you are having more problems with the new one, but replacing it is pretty much the only fix.

is it under warranty? if not latches are easy. but after so many i wouldn't settle for less then a free repair ad a loaner for the day. but use yoiur key for now to keep the buzzing from happening

Interesting, theres a new latch out now according to the dealer... maybe a bigger problem than thought?

So it's gonna be there tomorrow too to have it changed. was told the whole assy is changed some, catch and latch and all.
Finally may get this gremlin fixed.

if they have replaced it already and its doing it again, you have a water leak, i had this happen on one a while back, it had been tapped in the rear and it took about 2 weeks to short 3 latches soooo i tweeked the trunk lid and laid in the trunk whilst someone hosed er down to find leaks, the major leak came from the corner and followed the metal seams to the latch and connector. 8)

Nope, no sign of a leak anywhere. no corrosion at all on the assy or anywhere near it.
The latch still worked, it just buzzed all the time. the new assy has a revised assy from what I was told.

i was told the same thing on a different part, but it ended up being the same part. they might be saying it to make you feel better. unless the only truly honest ford employees on here confirm what they are saying is valid do be surprised if it happens again.
