Need help, Intake q's.

So today I got bored and for 15 bucks hacked together an intake. (NOTE: I'm buying a Steeda in the next few weeks and just wanted to get all the stock tubing out now). Now I am having a few issues. The car will start fine sometimes, idle for a few minutes, then start to bog and almost die. If I pump the gas, it will struggle back to life and start to idle fine again. Also, I went out for a drive and it is sparatically losing power everywhere. High 1st, low and mid second, etc... It's weird. At WOP in first it will pull just fine but at around 25mph it will die off, losing power. I'm assuming it's just needing to learn the new airflow? The old intake was VERY restrictive, and this new one is basically a CAI

Thoughts? Worst comes to worst i'll revert to stock (ugh) until I have the Steeda, but i'd rather not put the huge fucking intake back together. It took me almost and hour just to take it out.

Disconnect the battery, and press down on the brake pedal for 15 seconds to discharge the capacitors.

I know what it was. The car is missing like a mother, and threw a light, but that is the only code that showed.

Going back to stock tomo. I'm not sure what to think about the battery. It's the OE, and that's all of 3 years old, with only a small 10" sub on it, can't imagine it's bad. My only question is, when I put the Steeda on will I run into the same issues?

Barely. I did a little research and this is what I found. When I made my intake, I made a 3". Stock is 2 1/4 or something. It's probably reading WAYYY to much air, to fast, causing it to miss somehow. When I rivert to stock i'm sure it will be fine. I relocated the MAF to a custom pipe, and that's probably the reason.

Ok. That's kind of what I was thinking. Either the maf tube was relocated or modified. I'm sure if reuse the stock maf tube it would run normal. Not sure why it's throwing a batt code tho...
Does your other piping work with the stock maf tube?

naw, it's 3" in and out. I'm over it. Back to stock for now, and just tear it all apart again when the steeda gets here.

Yeah, you need a tune if you change the maf tube size. I know it sucks to wait, but you'll have your new one in no time.

Stock intake is back in, car runs flawlessly again, and with some time or about 50 miles or so the codes will disappear.
