I thought someone could help me with this. I got my old car from high school today. And it needs more work than I thought. Anyone know where I can get parts for a 1995 Mercury Sable other than U Pull Em. The interior is all modly and crap cuz my dad spiled a milkshake in the car and never cleaned it up. THe interior paneling is falling off, cant open the drivers side door from the inside, and some body damage to the car. also, hahahaha found out my car can start WITHOUT the key today. Someone tried stealing the car back in 2000 and screwed up the steering wheel column. I thought the key was in the ignition turned it and the car started right up. No problems at all. Any ideas on fixes for that? One of my friends is moving back here from Michigan and hes gonna help me rebuild the car so I have something for work and whatnot. But in the meantime I need a way to fix the ignition.

Get a Club for the steering wheel and save your money. In good condition that car isn't worth $1000.

The key deal you just have to replace the cylinder. My old SHO did the same thing as did a buddies Sable. IIRC it's a somewhat common problem in that era Ford.
Should also check the headlight switch pigtail. IIRC there are 4 screws around the gauge cluster and the dash trim pulls off and then you can see the headlight switch.

I know last time I was out to Rohners there where a few Sables there, but that was 2 years ago now. But they are still there though. Guess best bet is to google junkyards and call around.

Yea Ive been checking around. I know the car isnt worth much but it gets me from point a to point b. MTB sounds like a good idea. lol. But as for the trunk monkeys... I tihnk ill pass lol.

new development though...... I cant OUT of my car. Both drivers and passenger side doors you cant get out of from the inside. Me and my buudy tore apart the doors and found that the rod and clamp going from the lever on the inside of the door to the actually lock system is bent, and the window track is bending the rod even worse. We messed with it for a few hours but werent able to bend it back. The rod is stripped on the passenger side door so the rod is slipping through the clamp. Any other ideas other than just replacing the whole door?

For all the money you're going to end up putting into this pile of shit, you could buy that Kona.

that kona is junk. he screwed up the engine. And there is no transmission in it right now plus no maintence has been done to the car in over 2 years. I knew it hadnt been driven for a while but not that long. The only way I was able to get this car is because i got it for free. I cant get a loan to get a car and all the places I have looked, everyone wants the money up front or through a loan so I cant do payment plans with anyone to get a car. Trust me, I HATE this car. But I needed something for work.

yea. I asked how much he wanted if one of my friends bought it and he was like oh well anyone else 3500 because its a Kona. He claimed he would give it to me for 2000 because I was family. But still. That would be a waste of money.

um, go to walmart and buy some duct tape. duct tape will fix anything. or you can tie a string to the latch deal and just use that. a door at a upull place is cheap though
