Quiting smoking..... again

I'm going to give quiting smoking a 5489324 shot. This time I'm going to give it a good, honest shot. Who else wants to quit smoking with me? lol.
I've only had one smoke today. I am going to stop buying packs, and no longer carry a lighter on me. I'll start with only taking if offered, so don't offer one
Anyone else serious about stopping smoking chime in.

Just quit, cold turkey. Seriously.
I smoked a couple packs a day for years and I quit flat out about 20 years ago and never looked back.
The hardest part is the actual action of smoking being gone, you won't miss the buzz for long but you'll miss going through the motions.
Get past that and you're good to go.

That's where I've been at forever. I really dislike the buzz/tobacco but I enjoy the motions and so on as weird as that may be.

So find some other way to stay busy, thats the key.
And don't take smokes when people offer them, if it was me and the group of friends I used to hang out with I think I'd just warn them that anyone that offered me a smoke was going to get punched in the arm HARD.
Or take it when they offer it and crumple it up and throw it away right in front of them, I bet they stop offering pretty quickly.
Theres something wrong with people that smoke and try to keep other people around them smoking.

Honestly I think its harder quitting around other smokers. That was my biggest problem. I had quit for a couple months because I had my wisdom teeth pulled, but living around chain smokers it makes it really hard.

I got pissed at the withdrawls. Quit cold turkey. It's been 10 years. Don't miss it...or the cost.

I agree with Steve quit cold turkey. Thats how I did it.
The motion was that hardest thing. I think this is where esting sunflower seeds kinda take over for that motion..
My very last ciggeret was when I was out with a friend about 3 months after I quit smoking and I took one from him and took one inhale of it and I was hacking and weezing for 5 mins... People in the bar were stearing at me pretty wierd
