On the way in this morning a guy pulled the "I'm getting in the lane next to the slow Focus at the stop light" move because he was obviously going to run me over otherwise.

So the light goes green and I ease into first without flooring it and pull away a bit and then hit second driving normally, next thing you know he's flooring it and flying past me.

So I hit it at fairly low revs in 2nd and once I hit the power band I caught him and by fourth I had a fender on him before I slammed on the brakes (we were in a 40 zone ).

What was he driving? A new or nearly brand new Tundra with the big 5.7L badges on the fenders.

I'm pretty damn happy being able to beat a 380 hp truck with my sad little SVT

Too bad I couldn't have made use of first, he would have been real surprised.

Wheres the damn boost when you need it????

Yeah....I had an old 90's VW Jetta with a couple kids in it taunting me on Highway 2 yesterday. They would pull in front of me, slow down and hit their windshield washer fluid so it sprays on to my car. Jackass's...

Anyways, they kept speeding up, then going slow over and over to my left on a 2 lane (each side) highway. I was going a consistent 68-70, ignoring the immaturity. Then I decided screw this, so when they were next to me, I dropped into fourth, not third, and took off. They tried to keep up with their ridicuously loud muffler, but they were never next to me again. I got up to about 99/100, then slowed down. They were way back there. Then i turned off to go to my client's home. That's the first time, i've really pushed this focus. It performed suprisingly well.

granny-shiftin', not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky you didn't blow the welds on the intake manifold.

I can say that I've honestly never been in a race situation with my Focus in 4 years and 80K miles. In a straight line race I just don't like my odds.

If I remember right (was a while ago)...you raced me on McKnight,then gettin on 36 you missed 3rd,and I took off! But I will admit you handed me my ass by Hadley/Fleet Farm! First person I raced in my Silver SVT. Hahaha

yeah and it needs all 380 of those horses to move the 5 thousand pound of its lard ass. the rear diff in that truck weighs almost as much as yer engine.
