where is the best place to get a tune? I talked to tom on FF and he charges 300. Should i go that route or is there a better place to get one?

Just a tune or a tuner? Tom on FF sells Predators with his custom tune for $370, but from what I can tell and what I've heard he is a douche. I would recommend buying a SCT Xcal3 from Focus Sport.

I forget what Steve has "fordsvtparts" but he has a Tom tune and has another tune I guess that is much better than toms.
But otherwise the SCT Xcal from FS is a nice buy.

I got my tune from Mike at Unique tuning in S.C. they do Predator tuning.
He did it remotely and I love it, I tried Tom's tune but found the driveability wasn't as good and I have better torque numbers with the tune from Mike based on dynos I've seen and my own impressions during driving.

i have a Xcal3. it's ok, but i think you can get more done by a person.
side question bout tuning: if i do more upgrades (like exhaust and cams) what would i do tune wise? have the xcal redone? or scratch that and get a custom tune?

Just call Mike at
http://www.uniquetuning.net/
Tell him I sent you his way, I'm not sure what the total cost is since I picked up a used Predator and you'll need a new one. He's a great guy to deal with though.

They can load any up to three different tunes on the Xcal units (at least that's how the 2 works). You get new performance mods, they make you a new tune and you upload it to your xcal and reflash the PCM. Pretty simple really.
I would recommend an Xcal and a dyno tune for extensive mods and the best tune, but that's also a more expensive route. You can get pretty decent "mail-order" tunes if you just have the basic bolt-ons.

I know that DB Performance deals with SCT and does custom tuning. I'm not sure what his pricing is like but it's at least somebody in Minnesota.

They did my entire dyno tune.
It's on average around $500 give or take with what your cars needs are. With my setup it took a bit more than that, but they do an EXCELLENT job.
