Yep my rack is bad. Anyone know how to work with it? Had it at my local dealership and the diagnosed it. Will cost me about 460 for them to fix it. Ugh. There goes the money I was saving for the intake and vactation this summer.

Unless anyone knows of how to fix this stuff... ;)

Its not a real hard job, I've done a it a couple times. $460 is a good price if that includes an alignment.

So you I would need an alingment after I got it replaced? In that case, I should replace it before I get my alingment done from the suspension. Now I just need a good one really fast for a good price. Monkey... 8)

$65 w/o the lines. i got paper work that says how old it's not. i'll be in savage tonight if everything goes to plan.
it's just held on to the cross member by 2 bolts, the lines, steering wheel shaft and tie rod ends. you won't be able to get a socket on one of the bolts on the cross cause of that plastic thing, but they ain't on there tight. it was a lot easier without the engine in the way. i took out the cross member with the rack still on it.
it may be the same as the old ones, you could pick up a book.

that could be an option. 6-8 bolts and a motor mount to drop that. that just seems like a lot of work for that little part. i think it's suppose to snow or hell fire on monday? you want to do it here or just get the part and do it at home? i'm fine with it being done here.

just loosen the sub frame, and lower it like 4-5 inches. other wise fitting the stub shaft from the sterring coloum is gonna be a biznitch!!!! 8)

4-5 inches is the length of the bolts... you could drop t completly and have it hang by the sway bar. you can use a jack to get the rack where you need it
