Change in Oil Filter for ZETEC's!!!

For all of you Zetec motor owners out there beware! I heard from Chad today, who is my parts manager over at Apple Valley Ford, that we're going to start using FL400's in place of FL2005's. He said they're consolidating them so I guess they're poof and no more. Hopefully Tousley Steve can verify this for me but thats the memo I got from Chad. I'm sure it'll be awhile before the 2005's are gone but I guess this is a little fyi for anyone who uses motorcraft oil filters or gets their oil changed by a ford dealership.

This happened quite a while ago, I've been out of FL-2005's for more than a month now.
I don't see any problem with it, the FL-400 has always been a good filter and it's specified for a LOT more cars than the 2005 which is probably why they stuck with the 400 and did away with the 2005.

theres no big deal. I just found out yesterday and I figured that some of you may not know so just a heads up. and yes the 400's work with no prob and are used in just about everything besides pickups.

The FL-2005 had a lower bypass pressure and a higher debris capacity.

I've been using the WIX 51315 for the past year. WIX are known to make top-notch filters. Appears to have the same physical configuration as the FL2005. The engine hasn't blown up or any such thing

Been using WIX for years for everything that uses an oil filter.
