I can rule out a tire for you. I've got the Kumho Ecsta AST on mine right now. They used to be a good tire, but I think they must have changed the compound or something. I'm on new tires in the front and they're not nearly as good as they used to be. Dry, wet and snow traction are all worse than my original set.cohenj87 wrote:what kind of tires does everyone prefer on thier focus that also work good in the spring and summer?
The Khumo's that he is talking about are a ultra-high performance all season tire made with a summer only compound. Once those tires get down to about 30 degrees or so they become junk. If you want a good tire for just spring and summer, I recomend those. They are quiet, they hold well, they wear well, and they aren't that bad in price. I really liked mine. Just don't drive on them in the winter.harold wrote:I can rule out a tire for you. I've got the Kumho Ecsta AST on mine right now. Like I said, I think they changed the compound. I have a new pair and they kind of suck on dry pavement in the Summer now.frankjt96 wrote: The Khumo's that he is talking about are a ultra-high performance all season tire made with a summer only compound. this is what i mean. the pirellis (i think one of mine is an Eagle somthing, $20 cheaper 15,000 less mile rateing) for the 16s and i really like the hancooks for th 15s, best tire for the buck i've seen. i rolled 15s on my ZX3, tried a few others (goodyear, firestone, and the cheapest at walmart) and they sucked (and cost more) compared to the hancooks. but i'm looking at how laong they lasted more then grip,FocusMech.73155 wrote:I am really happy with my stock pirelli p6's. they have great tread ware and for stock tires they handle great both summer and winter.....not to mention they are fairly inexpensive.
atta girl!!!! the grids are a very good all season tire, they are the replacement for my fav the g009 or gewnine in the tyre biz.CrazySVTChick wrote:I prefer Bridgestone Potenza's G019 because they handle awsome in the snow and ice yet they rock in the summer for corners and handling. They are all season high performance and they are fairly inexpensive.
