What the hell, give it a shot.
Ask o2 for for comebacks on the crap you'll get.

i thought of the "why the hell not" factor. but i could prolly sell it and get somthing out of it. if i do it and it looks like crap, i pretty much 80% ruined the partial resale. but, yet, it's unique

you have a LOT of work to get to the level that o2 has gotten to euro enough to rock a rusty hood.
But thats just my opinion.

Don't do a CF hood in the winter. That's just how things get ruined. Better yet, take the old hood, and paint two orange racing stripes on it. just the hood though. I saw that on a silver GTI and it looked great.

I agree with everyone else, don't go Rust. My personal fav. is CF. But to pull the Rust hood off takes a lot, O2 does it well but i can't name another focus i've seen that can really do it. But in teh end it's your car and whatever you think looks good is what you should do, don't let what other people think get in the way of what you like best.

Also keep in mind that O2's car rarely if ever sees rain or bad weather, a rusty hood in the winter here is going to make a mess of your car and it'll probably rust through the metal in no time.

i have my old stock hood from a deer hit. i fear that in the winter my CF will crack or somthing. i don't want to be the poser guy, but it's not like everyone is doing it.
i think some people are misunderstanding. i'm not debating if i should get a CF hood or rusty. i have a CF hood on now. i'm debating if i should swap out the hood for winter like it is or strip the paint and let the chips fall. the hood fits, it's just junk.
ore i could try to keep it natural, just the metl look
i could strip the paint off my drive fender too. it might be over the top, but it might just be funny. i'm going to replace that when the snow and ice is gone.

you want that pulling in your drivway...

One thing to understand, I did'nt just sand off the paint and let it sit. I've got ALOT of work into the hood. One must remember, Ford used a galvanized coat over the hood, to prevent rust.

well, i heard you say that before. if i was to do it i was going to ask how.
humm, i noticed my fender isn't rusting where the paint is chipped... is that why?

more than a mostly stock focus with a rusty hood.
Seriously, I think the reason why I like o2's hood so much is because of the amount of work that is put into the car, and then it's totally offset by the look that the rust reprsents, which is the complete oppisite of the car.
It just wouldn't be the same on a car that has little work into it.

that is true, it does offset. i'm just looking to still make it stand out. i've decided to leave the rust to the pros.
is there anything that anyone can suggest to change up the look. it's like it kinda don't matter, the insurance already paid to replace it.
also, just for the record. i have done nothing to it cause... the massive loan... warrenties... gas milage... reliability(if it aint broke, don't fix). i want to see how long it'll go. it turns 70,000 this week. only 20 months old. i think it's time for my monthly oil change
