Tires and Rims.....

Hey Guys....Long time - no talk, been swamped with work lately, and have no other time.....But anyways....
I have a set of Motegi MR-7 18" white, with BF Goodrich Scorchers on it....the tire was slashed by the rim....and when I go to see about replacing the tire - Guy tells me that a new tire would be about 250...I am low on cash so I don't think that is an option....Half of me is just considering selling the rims/tires as is.....the other half is considering getting a 40 series tire on it, and getting all new tires....and still the other half of me is considering just leaving the rims in the storage locker at my apt....
I paid 1600 dollars for the tires and rims...and other than a few scratches on the rims they are in good condition....Any advice?
