well as long as its an improvement...

what do you think you can do better? 60ft times...r/t...bad shifts?

-edit- curious to know what are you running for tuning...do you have a custom chip? also are you running a stock btm end?

Well the thing is, with 167whp and a 2200lb car, I technicly should beable to run a high 13, according to the hp calulators. But I guess that's with perfect traction.

tuning= stock computer and MAF with a FMU and 24# injectors with a adjustable FPR to lower the idle fuel pressure for the larger injectors.
Oh and a home made 5th injector controller, just for a little exstea safty, any time I'm in boost and the O2 voltage drops below .8 it add's fuel as needed.

The motor it's self is all stock, I just grabbed it straight from the junk yard and ploped it in, than threw on the turbo and manifold.

what was going on with your WOT and a/f graph on your dyno? also what are you doing for timing? msd?

The WOT problem was the computer going into open loop. The computer "think's" it has 15# injectors at 40psi, when it really has 24# at 80psi, so as soon as it ignor's the O2 the AFR goes to hell.

Timing is stock, stock computer and MAF.
I have the IAT sensor after the turbo, I'm using colder plug's and 93 octane gas. I have found that 8psi is about the limit, I get a little ping some times in 3rd gear.

So with all the issues you are having with tuning if I turbo my car it will be easier due to having the ability to use the SCT chip to tune with a larger MAF and larger injectors?

thats where i was going with this...are you thinking of proper tuning...it could put you over 175-180 after lookin at your a/f...not to mention tweak the timing...plus you got a stock head, a little pnp and cam could set you near to 190hp

You will have non of the issues I am having. Your tuning will be right on with the help of the SCT. I suggest you invest in a wide band AFR meter instead of monkeing around with cheap LED A/F gauges. And a knock sensor would be nice to. But with a little dyno time and tweeking of the software you'll be tit's.

I know my tuning sucks. To do it right it's gonna cost, and with a house and family it's hard to drop big chunks of doe on just a car.

The 2.0 SPI SOHC is basicly unchanged from the old school Escort GT's with the 1.9 HO, the electronics of the engine have changed, but not much else, actully the SPI has slightly larger valves and a higher tq output number. I have seen a few 250-300hp turbo 1.9 HO's with a stock long blocks. They have tuning a little easyer since the can plug in a 2.3 turbo computer, VAM and injectors and have perfect tuning. But there's no reason the SPI cant match that power with proper tuning and the right sized turbo.
