Thanks to Roman, I believe I am the newest registered member of this forum. I also own and drive daily a 2003 SVT5 that is driving me crazy. My main beef is the habitual rough cold start that persisits for five minutes or so and sometimes seems like riding a bucking bronco. Anyone else have this problem? More importantly, any recommended solutions? The car was purchased and has been serviced at American Ford in Bloomington and has less than 10,000 miles on it.

one way i've read on fixing it is by getting a FS/SCT chip they have figured out its an ideling issue with the ECU. I picked up the september issue of Sport Compact Car magazine and they have a trubo'd SVT with a SCT chip that was custom tuned by the owner of SCT. but the base SVT tune of that chip fixes a ton of shit that ford fucked up on when they wrote the flash for the ECU, you could also try taking it to ford and having them reflash the ECU I know ford issued a new flash for the SVT. Getting the SCT chip with boast the best becuase it also give you a higher redline rmp and alows for furture expansion.

Hey! Glad you found the place!

Also, the SVT cant use a chip, so you would have to take it to a SCT dealer to get it re-flashed.

I think RJR has the sct software in, you should give Mize a call, and see what he can do for you.

Morrie's Minnetonka Ford reflashed the EMS with YRF0 and voile, the car drives like the guys at SVT must have designed it to. Man is this thing finally fun. Also, just put on a set of Hankook W300 HR-rated snows on 16" ZTS rims. Very quiet and smooth for snows, it will be interesting to see how they compare to Blizzaks this winter :D
