Painting Springs/Struts

Does anyone have any pointers for painting coil springs? Obviously they're going to flex a lot so it needs to be a durable/flexible paint. Is powder coating my best/only option? Does anyone have any experience with this?
I'm thinking for the struts I'll just sand them down and rattle can them with some decent paint. I don't know if I like the idea of cooking (for powder coat) expensive compressed gas struts at 400+ degrees

Powdercoat is the best options for the springs.
And your way would prob be the best for the shocks and struts.

Sounds good to me
Anyone have any recommendations for where to get the powder coat done if I go through with that? I've seen quite a few posts on tcstangs regarding places that do it, so I could probably follow up with one of them if nothing else.

why are ya needing to paint the springs? I'd bet a brand spanking new set of springs would run about the same as a powdercoat

Truthfully they are brand new springs.... I just don't like the color for my car

I can see my yellow Koni's on the wagon. The rears are red, so thats not bad.
What color you going?
You could leave the springs red, but paint the Konis.

I think that would be the most cost effective plan
Just semi gloss black or something dark so they don't stand out, I don't think I'll be able to see much of the springs.

Yeah. The red will look fine on the car. CD Silver or Black Struts will be cool.
Can't beat this combo tho...HAHA

Thanks! Not really local, I shipped them over to the otherside of Wisconsin. A fellow Contour owner does powder coating out of his own house on just about anything.
He gave me a really good price (he was/is looking for work at the moment
) at $35 including the blasting and even return shipping!
I just had to ship them over there (~$15). All said in done it only cost about $50 to have them painted black over red.
He's even giving me some leftover powder to touch them up if I scratch them installing them.
