a new meaning to the words "short intake"

i got creative last night, and here's what got done(wether its good or bad) i used the elbow of the ractive short ram i had laying around, clamped the MAF right to that, and then clamped a modified ractive heatshield(not anymore) filter to it.

the filter is a work of art, first i took off the heat shield (4 screws) whick also holds the filter to the flat metal backing that the coupler is attached to..
then i trimmed some stuff off the filter, and put it on the inside of said flat plate, securing it with clear silicoln.

throttle lag? whats that? with only a max if what, 10 inches for the air to travel? non existant, its there right now.

now i just need to find a way to construct a cowl hood to get cooler air to the setup, any ideas on that?

take a gander and tell me what y'all think! 8)

and if you may be wondering why i didn't just leave the heat shield filter all together? clearance issues with the hood..

how does your car run in this configuration? I thought the MAF would get backwash from the TB and cause it to error a bit and possibly run rough. What say you?
