I'm game for trying to do this again, The ice should be getting fairly thick by now but I think we should wait till mid January or so.

I'm told the Ramsey beach access on to White Bear Lake is usually in pretty good condition for cars.

Sounds good to me. If you want I can check the ice at that lake you wanted to try (or help you check it). Maybe if I can find a real long drill bit in the garage, that would be easier than lugging an auger
