Doesn't look like that one plays mp3s. Apparently the 7894 is the same thing but with mp3 capability.

I've Owned my Alpine CDA-7894 for 5-years now and I am just as pleased with it as I was the day I bought it. GREAT decks for SQ applications and three sets of 4-volt pre-outs make expandability easy.

Devils Advocate....

Most decks, don't come with the wiring harness. I've never sold one with them.... most people keep them for the new deck they get. (plus they are cheap things to buy at walmart, about $10)

Cut RCA's... Shouldn't be an issue, it's nothing a few wire connectors couldn't fix.

The deck has a removable face, I'm guessing. Are you sure you are putting it on right?


How do you know the deck is useless and doesn't work when, it sounds like, you haven't even wired it up and installed it?
