kinda random but i have seen a few SVT lightnings for sale and i really like them, idk why, dont know what i would do with it, but why would ford or SVT for that matter make a performance vehicle like that and not make it in a manual? such a stupid move! i would like 5.4 supercharged liters of power going through a manual not an auto.

the market for manuals seems to be a small one, i belive most cars today you have to order them with a manual trans.....idk maybe i am wrong about that....

Hmmm I thought they made them a few years with manual trannys but apparently not. Now that I think of it I've never seen a 5.4 mated with a manual tranny. If you want your "5.4 supercharged liters of power going through a manual not an auto" get a GT40 :D

It's just typical Ford idiocy, kind of like building the SVTF without forced induction.

You can always do a manual trans swap, A T56 will bolt up and then you just need the pedals and hydraulic clutch setup and you're rocking.

Keep in mind that a Lightning even with an auto is a seriously badass truck, It's about half the size of an SRT10 and the Lightning has some serious potential.

ya the GT (not a GT40 because of copyright issues) and the GT500 are both out of my price range that more of a thing my parents would be into. quick quiz anyone know why they called them gt40's back in the day? ya those lightnings are badass! ya that T56 fits in alot of vehicles, alot of fords that i know of now that i think about it. so ya someday when i growup.. lol nevermind, someday when i got some more cash that t56 lightning will be possible

someone knows their ford fact, ya it had to do with how tall they were, could u imagine only 40 inches tall? they had to have a bubble in the top of the door so that the helmet of the driver would fit

the lightning has an auto for a reasone, the r100 or what ever has the 7.3 trans'es guts in it. plus a roots blower likes the steady climb with the auto, its a lot of build boost, dump boost, build boost with a manual. the cobra has a 6 speed becuse its spose to be a track car, it needs engine braking, and better trans controll for the twisties, the lighting is more a straight line thing, granted it handles well for a hay hauler, but its still a truck. and only in mexico can you get a f-150 , 5.4, with a stick.

i am pretty sure you can get the 5.4 in a stick you just need to order it because they wont have it on the lot because not many people look for that. as stated by someone earlier not many people look for manuals anymore unless its in a sports car and even then many people get autos
