so, i have a FS race header i am TRYING to put on, and the bolts on my header heatsheild are all rusty but whatever (or so i thought it was no big deal, so i replace them who cares right?!?!?!). so i took off the top 2 with no problems, the two on the front are another story, i stick the wrench down there and the bolt seemed to be so rusted and crappy that it stripped it self like right away, now i have no idea what i should/can do about it. i could really use some help with this...
...and tonight i got one out but the other is not gonna budge.....so idk what to do, can i just grind the headoff?

is that okay to just grind the head off, where dose that bolt go to the block or the header?

Goes into the header. And you won't be using that bolt again on the FS header, so just grind them off.

You don't need a heatshield. It would be a shame to cover up those purdy headers.

I am planning on wrapping my header just to get the underhood temps down in general.
Anyone have any extra 2" header wrap lying around? I have a pretty good amount of it but I don't think it's quite enough to do the whole thing.

I hate header wrap. It looks ugly and just rust the hell out of your header. Why not have it ceramic coated like I'm gonna do to mine?

Well, The SVT header is stainless and ceramic is not cheap.
Besides my dads racecar has the had the header wrapped for about 10 years and it's not rusted out yet, Not a stainless headers either.
BTW-they do run in the rain and he is usually paddocked outdoors on grass so the wrap does get wet occasionally.

Well Steve, I'm having that used header I got coated if you want, I can take both in and get them done at the same time.

I might if I had a spare header to send out, What's the cost? Although I still don't have a spare header so it doesn't matter much.
