Carol is kind of slow in updating the site. He basically made it to help Joe advertise the car. As far as I know he still has it but really does not race it much any more. His intrests have shifted to his Pinto again. Or maybe he pulled the engine out of the Focus and put it in the Pinto, I'm not sure. I haven't talked to him in awhile (online).

Either way it's a badass car and I am surprised noone followed his lead. Espically due to there being a basically "bolt-in" kit for the swap. If you confused on the "bolt-in" part just check out Kugel Komponets V-8 swap info. The 2.3 is not that much different, motor mounts basically.

Its about 5k for the critical parts you will need, the rest of the stuff you can source from jegs/summit/ebay for far less. IMO, by far the best idea if you are serious about performance in a focus, a midly modded 302 would be a great starting point.

John should put a 302 in that focus thats down in the weeds

Yeah, i've already considered that, but to the average guy who wants a fast RWD focus, the simple v8 is so much easier than modding a little 4 banger to the point of failure. A slightly modded v8 will provide rock solid reliablity, i'm sure his 2.3 is not, and cost a heck of a lot more

... or maybe the 2.3T I have  . I could use the 302 also . . . I guess :P . But both those engines have other plans for them.

The 302 has more room to grow into 8)

Speaking of 302, I got a 302 block on the floor in the garage, needs to be clearanced and bored .030" over now
