its gotta be some kind of marketing strategy that they come in mazda form instead of focus form.
assuming there's no mazda3speed sedan version eh..

Actually we still have the old chassis on the Focus here in the states. The Euro-Focus got the new chassis and so did the Mazda 3's. So a Mazda 3 is = to a Euro-Focus. we always get the sloppy seconds here!!

Damn, does it come in a 2 door? I just drove a 04 Mazda3 4 door hatch and it wasn't as impressive as my focus. I'm pretty sure I could beat it in a drag race as it seemed heavy. The clutch was way too stiff too.

They dont make a 2 door hatch for the Mazda3, I preffer teh 4 door anyways, specially with a kid on the way. Mazdaspeed is like SVT for ford, they deck out the car with full leather and the works. It'll also come with options like a dash mounted navagation system, and all that fun shit you wont see in a Focus.
Also Curb Weight: 2826 lbs. is for the Mazda3
and for the 2 door Focus hatch: Curb Weight: 2627 lbs.
and for the 4 door sedan: Curb Weight: 2658 lbs.
and for the 4 door hatch: Curb Weight: 2632 lbs.
So really a couple hundred lbs more but over 150 more HP what woud you take?
