Do any of you attend local autox's? I completed MAC's autox novice class last weekend with a couple friends and plan on competing in as many as I can attend this summer. I am signed up for the MOWOG 2 on May 7th at Valleyfair and wanted to see if there are any other focuses to compete with.

The class I took was through http://forum.mnautox.com/forums/ they have anouther class coming up soon. Everyone got an average of 16-18 runs a piece, not to bad for $50. They also have all info on upcoming events and what not. The rules are straight from SCCA so check there to anser any questions you have on car classing.

I was signed up for the first class, but my VW buddy backed out, and we switched it to the next class. So thats why I was able to dyno last weekend. I just ordered my new tires for my Euro rims, so I should be able to autoX very shortly since I got the SC installed finally as well....

I'm kind of suprised at the lack of focuses that autox.

o2designs for the first class we got in a minimum of 16 runs and is well worth the $50. A couple of friends and I are thinking of taking the second class just to get more track time. A few things to bring that I completely forgot about Sun screen I fried pretty good standing outside all day. And a camera it was more like a car show at the first class a lot of nice cars showed up. I hope to see you out at a few events this summer!

How bad did you wear your tires after 15 runs? I'm thinking of bringing my POS stock 16s to burn off whats left of the tires. Or I should have my new MXs mounted on my Euros by then. Just not sure how bad their track is for chewing up tires. The Tire Rack's track is pretty hard, I noticed quite a bit of tire wear after 3 runs on their track. Consider amount of tire chunking.

Hello

I have autocrossed for only one year and with the white miata which was at the dyno meet.

I drove my focus for one event last year at Midway Stadium. It handled ok for an auto and stock suspension.

This year I put in the SVT Suspension and will take the focus out for one event later in the season.

Everyone should try auto x at least once. I am signed up for MOWOG 2 at Valleyfair this coming Sunday.

I think the reason for the tire wear was one there 711's, two my lead foot and three underinflation. I ran with 40 front 35 rear and was pushing and rolling over excessivly. There is an instructor that used to run a turbo focus I think his name is dave suggested running 45 front 50 rear. His main point was to keep the rear higher than the front supossed to work great on a focus. I am going to try that out this weekend at MOWOG2 and see how it works.
