I've got to say I would never have had the balls to do what you did. While I have had thoughts of different colors, getting it just right is always the wall I hit. How do you like them? Would you change anything?

I'd pick a paint I could put a clear on for starters. I can't find a matte clear coat that will work with Acrylic paint. Every clear I find is a Lacquer, which eats Acrylic.
I wouldn't put the rims n the oven to expedite the drying process. Made them kind shinny vs the matte they where. Still not glossy though and it's something I can easily fix.
I'd use the stripper in the spray can vs the brush on stuff. It doesn't work as fast but you use less and it covers better.
Might use a self etching primer also. We'll have to see how they hold up though.

I like them, but I'm very easy to please and I do things that I like, could care less what others think (for the most part). It's just a car and cosmetics aren't going to alter the reliability of the car, which mine has been pretty good.

So on the stripper, how long do you think it would take to work? What did you use to remove the old stripped paint? Chances are self etching would have been better, at least that what's supposed to work better on bare metal. I found that out a while ago when I bought a can and didn't read the description. You blasted these too to rough the surface, right?

Definitely looks like a job well done.

The stripper has to sit for a little while, half hour or so is usually enough. If the paint has lifted enough you can wash it off (no clue if it kills the grass or not, would think it does) or putty knife (plastic if you want shinny/smooth wheels). It comes off real easy. Buy a can and try it on the asshole neighbors car once, you'll see.

Yes I sand blasted them.
