Just so you know, I don't hate VW's. I just don't get the whole cult following they've gotten. I knew some people that had those and they really were not well made cars although a friend of my moms had a first gen GTI that was smoking hot.
One of my friends had a rabbit that was so rusty the the entire front clip moved up and down independently from the rest of the car, That was one car I absolutely refused to ride in because I was sure it would break in half.
My moms Diesel Rabbit and Jetta were decent and did get 50 plus mpg but like I said they were painfully slow.
