I know Borla exhausts are excellent. I have looked at the Borla website, but they don't list the diameter. Dealers, however, list it as 2¼", whereas the FSWERKS Stealth is 2½". With a boosted engine, I would think the 2½" system would yield better performance.

I have a partial Borla kit, it's center exit that was intemded for the 2.3 duratec, it's 2.5. Almost positive all of their focus exhausts kits are.

I checked with Borla, and their exhaust is 2½" diameter.

mine is a cross between FSwerks race exhaust (no resonator, jus their straight tube) to a Borla muffler. I love it, but it's a bit loud for crusing on the hwy. A full Borla would sound pretty sweet IMO, but I imagine the FSwerks one would as well. Either would be a great option!

There is only about $100 difference in cost between the two systems (FSWERKS is cheaper than Borla), so I could go either way. I've listened to sound clips of both, and the FSWERKS seems deeper - and possibly quieter - than the Borla.
What is your experience?

Okay, I got the system installed yesterday (Saturday, 07/09). The most difficult processes were a) cutting off the old, rusty nuts at the Flex Pipe flange (much easier after I bought a new die grinder), and b) modifying the new exhaust flange to mate with the SVT flex pipe.
The system fit perfectly, and it seems to be of good quality.
Sound level is probably pretty close to the stock system, but I have only driven it once (test drive), and that's not much to go by. Besides, the original exhaust has been degrading for a while, so I'm not sure if I remember how a 'good condition' stock system sounds.
The only down sides: 1) I wish the tubing from the (flex pipe) flange to the 1st muffler was 2½" like the rest of the system. It's actually closer to 2¼". I measured the I.D. of the flex pipe, and it measures a true 2½". So there's a short piece of 'restricted flow' in the system. To help with smooth flow, I ground the I.D. of the new flange so that there is a nice taper to 2½". 2) The other issue is that the new flange has to have the holes elongated to match the SVT flex pipe flange holes. In order to do this, the holes in the new flange actually break out at the outside edges of the flange. This 'hole modification' allows the flanges - and thus the pipes - to mis-alignn; they're not self-aligning. So you have to be careful to visually align everything prior to tightening the system in place.
I'll keep you posted regarding my impressions after I have logged a few more miles.

After driving this for a few hundred miles, here is my assessment:
1) Quietness: Seems to be quieter than the stock system, but approx. the same volume at hard acceleration.2) Power: A noticeable improvement.3) Overall Impression: Very nice system. Other than the short 2¼" section immediately before the 1st muffler, no complaints.
