Well right now the head is off, everything is ready to go. Problem is I won't be here much longer. I'm thinking I'm going to have to rig up a hoist to get the car up on to a trailer and move it to my new house I bought. Then I can work on it much easier.

I feel you there, i did the rear brake conversion in jan in the unheated garage. After a couple of hours the smallest problem got over blown because the patience was to cold to work. I understand the no motivation.

Yeah, if it's sticking out of the block, Sears sells a tool specifically for stud removal. Probably need at least 3/4 inch sticking up, though.

Not quite:

However, after reading reviews on it, I'd probably stick to the vice grip....

It's in the block.

I don't come on here enough anymore. :(

So who wants to come and help me yank it out and put it all back together? I'm going to work on it Sunday or some other time this week.

Holy crap. I didn't expect it to be that far in there. I was thinking maybe a thread below deck, not 5. Now I get why a chisel wouldn't work.

If exhaust is done tomorrow I'll be up Friday. If I can't get exhaust done tomorrow I'll come up and take a stab at it. Either way this weekend I'll be up there.

... it's just really weird that it broke that far down.

If the treads on the bolt are boogered up, it's drill it and tap it time. If the treads are still good, a left handed drill bit may work. Or a regular drill and an easy out.

This drill and tap idea. How much of a problem will it be?
