Put the socket into the light, then put RTV sealant in the open space to make a seal. Then just hold it in place or make a setup to hold it in place until it dries somewhat.

OK, is this right?
Everything I find says the Euro tails take the old style bulb,

Image

380 for stop/running and 382 for turn signal; which is 1157 and 1156 in the US part numbering.
But again there are different number that will fit. It's a bulb base type BA15d, S8 for the glass again and a C6 filament. A 1068, 1176, 1376 will all fit (differences may just be wattage and rated life, like the other bulbs).

There is also a A-4829 (dual filament) and a 1016 (dual) that I found which seem to have just a hair large base diameter, 0.040" to be exact. Can't find any more on them though.

BTW, found this site --> http://www.donsbulbs.com/cgi-bin/r/t.pl
and no lie, it is the biggest cross-reference on the net. Frickin' awesome.

You using the right bulb? Maybe you need new sockets if the bulbs are falling out.

The trick was a 3157 glass bulb. The bulbs I had were 3157 bulbs, but plastic where they inserted to the connector. The glass ones seemed to stick in pretty well, especially after i cut off the black plastic block from keeping them going in very deep. Props to my twin, he is a damn auto genious.

I'm not sure what bulb I run, but I know I replaced the ford sockets with early 90s vw sockets

Thats because the Focus is way different then any Ford. You need to look at euro manuf stuff like VW's.
