I actually agree. Why, the FUCK do you want to go 135mpg+? I really see no reason. Unless your racing on a track. And there is no FUCKING way an SVT will ever get a trap speed of 135 or anywhere there.

I'm not one to wish harm on anyone, but I seriously hope anyone that is going over 100 is caught and pulled over so your fucking lcense will get taken away. I really don't want assholes like this out on the roadways endangering, me, family, or friends.

135 is about it on a normally aspirated SVT, you want to go faster get forced induction or Nitrous.

And no, there is no limiter on the SVT.
Steve you talking about a mechanical means of limiter? Doesn't engine management control the upper rpm on the SVT? Neophyte SVT ? I know but I don't own one....

Thanks,
Brian

you'r not being unsafe if you are in control. and it's not like he's topping it out every second. i've topped out my car, it was safe.

I don't see how driving 100+ on any public road can be safe...At any point, it is never safe. Whether your Colin McRae or the old chinese lady around the corner. You have no control of someone pulling out in front of you, a kid running in the street. A deer jumping in front of your car. An icy patch in the road...You can't control this shit if it happens. Its one thing to top your car out on a closed course, where these elements WONT happen. But doing this on a public street is just retarded and fucking stupid. I don't even see how this could be an arguement. But this could be the reason I have not slid my car into a ditch doing 140+, or slid my car into a fire hydrant, or got my license taken away...Not pointing fingers at anyone...but there is NO way you can say 'topping' your car out on a city street, or some hick back road is going to be safe.

Heres to you, be seeing ya on the news.... :?

Actually Kyle a basically stock SVT will top out about 135, it's a fact.

Doing it on a public road is just stupid though.

all those things make you not in control. any time for that matter, so never drive. but i understand what you're saying. but being unsafe is doing this shit in residential areas around 5 when everyone is coming home. every second you are in your car you are ALL being unsafe in some way. so everyone don't ever drive again cause you'll piss kyle off.. but dude, i think you are freaking out a little too much
and lets look at auto-X. basically screwing around in a parking lot. what if a kid ran out in front of you there?
and, also for the record, before (well, now after) you start "not" pointing fingers, i don't think anyone on here has ever hit a fire hydrant.

The SVT has a rev limiter but not a speed limiter, all other Foci have a speed limiter that cuts in at about 105 mph, the SVT is limited only by power.

The SVT will actually top out in fifth gear because it doesn't have the power to pull the revs that high in sixth.

You want to go faster in an SVT just make more horsepower.

Yes, your never in control of all things. But going at that speed just makes the chances of something stupid happening ALOT greater, then me going 25mph in a parking lot or track at DCTC. I don't know if you've ever autoXed before, never seen you there before, and you don't seem to know much about it, so I'm assuming you've never done. So you really have no idea how safe or dangerous it can be.

And yes, I'm over reacting to the whole thing. So what. I guess I'll sit aside and watch while you get arrested for vehicular homicide... :) Safe motoring!!
