A functional ram air scoop could acomplish the same purpose, but only at speed...

Which is why I may build a custom intake this summer...perhaps a large-ish scoop in the lower grille, feeding the stock airbox, modified for a cone filter. Anyone wanna help?

I'm thinking now of a scoop going from the stock snorkel and ducking down through the radiator shroud to draw a nice cold air charge from behind the top grille...although I think it'd be a lot more sheet metal than I can handle.

Ram air is so simple I'm surprised new cars don't come with it. It's free HP and better MPG to boot. I've been thinking about this myself and would be interested in seeing what you guys have planned.
