Go to school and minor in business or something. Then get into the laundry business and maybe some day start another business that is CS related.

UND flight school FTW!!!! I gotta tell ya, checking out the world from 35,000 feet all day sounds like a great way to go. For me, flight school will guarantee me a job as a pilot since it's a specialized field. Way too many degree programs out there will not do you much good in securing you a desired position. Just take biology for frick sakes! It's too broad of a field.
If anything, go to school to get a MUCH better idea on how to run the laundry business. Just taking a few business classes at a school will teach you more than you would ever imagine. Today, more than ever, you NEED a degree. These days, a HS diploma won't get you much more than minimum wage. You practically need an AA just to keep food on the table.

I agree with Rob. I went to school, got a degree and a job. Then I moved. You just cant make any money wrenching up here in the woods, unless you work at a dealership which wont hire you without the 2 years experience, so I work in a factory like the rest. What good does the schooling do me without the required experience?

Come on Rob, A degree is everything. It doesn't even matter if it applies to the field you work in as long as you can wave the little piece of paper showing you went to school.
Thats one of the things that drives me insane, you can be a complete imbecile and as long as you have a degree you can get a great paying job.
Get the degree and then go for the gravy job at the laundry, trust me.
I have a degree (a BA), and I graduated with honors (cum laude). It has yet to help me get a job. A degree doesn't guarantee anything.
My advice is to find a program that your interested in and jump in with both feet. The program could be a "major" at a school or it could be an apprenticeship at a factory, or even your buddy is starting up a web site. All that matters is that you become undeniably an expert in the field and that you eat, sleep and breath that subject.

Get a business degree and take over grandpa's laundry business. Friends are easy to find. Good jobs, not so easy.
