I don't know how we're going to get all our cars out there if there's two feet of snow by then

Driving on a lake is an interesting experience if you've never done it before though.

I'll bring a shovel

We will have to do some scouting for this, we need a lake with a decent access and snow might be a factor but most winters the majority of the snow blows off the ice anyways so it shouldn't be bad.

Hasn't anyone seen the ice fishing towns that sprout up on the lakes? You need 8-10 inches for a car and by January or February it'll be more like 24 inches on most lakes around here, It's been a while but try using a hand crank ice auger sometime to drill an ice fishing hole.

Watch out on the lakes and see whats driving around out there, nothing in this club will be overweight.

Scout indeed. Does anyone have a lake in mind that would work well? I'm not very familiar with local lakes. I know last resort we could go out on Mille Lacs for a G2G but if you actually want to fish we'd have to venture a ways out to make it to the mud flats, they're like 5+ miles from every shore  At least all the resorts usually plow nice roads on the ice. Too bad it's a little far from the cities.

I was out there one year when we had no snow on the ice it had all melted (it was later in the season). Bare ice with a few inches of water on top everywhere. When we drilled our holes the water would go down through the hole into the lake (think never ending toilet flushing). It was the weirdest thing I've ever experienced while Ice Fishing.

Gotta be a local lake, otherwise too many people will drop out.

Just needs a decent level access, some lakes are tough to get on to due to the steep access points.

Everyone start looking. I may know of one in Little Canada that'll work.

Come on Sally, People drive superduty trucks out on the ice. A little Focus won't hurt it.

We can probably arrange some beverages that require ice if it helps you get over your fear of standing on a frozen lake

Did you happen to see the show last year "ice road truckers" if a loaded semi can do it a few little Fords can do it.
