Last night, someone (who lives upstairs) knocked my door and told me that the person who hit my car actually lied that her brake failed. She hit my car because she didnt pay attention, not brake failing. The worst part is they fled the scene and went to walmart, came back then report it. So basically isn't this a hit and run and cosnsidered felony?
What do you guys think would be my next best step? I was thinking maybe I'm going to tell the local PD about this because the person who told me this actually heard her said that she hit because she didnt pay attention, not brake failed and he is willing to stand up as a witness if I go ahead and press charges.
obviously my car is damaged and the insurance fix won't bring my car value back to where its supposed to be anymore because of this.
